ITP Workshop (NTMF100)
or “Ondřejov” at the Zámek Nečtiny
česká verze

This year’s workshop for students of the Institute of Theoretical Physics will take place on October 18-20. The current “Ondřejov” workshop will not be held in Ondřejov, but at the training and accommodation facility of the University of West Bohemia at the Nečtiny Castle. You can explore the location at zameknectiny or on a map here.

Third year Bachelor students, Master students, and PhD students are invited in particular. Lectures will be held in both Czech and English.

The program—lectures, hiking, sports and cultural events (musical instruments welcome)—is suitable for students of all ages. The capacity of the workshop is 65 students. In addition to accommodation (this year, beds with sheets, blankets, and pillows have been arranged for everyone), full board will be provided (from a dinner on Friday to a lunch on Sunday). Transportation is provided by a yellow RegioJet bus on Friday from the FMP building in Troja and back on Sunday. A contribution of CZK 500/stay will be collected from participants in advance.

Instructions for participants:

  1. >We would appriciate if you give feedback and fill up a form that will be available here.
  2. Due to the limited capacity, a timely registration for the workshop via a registration form is required. To receive credits for the workshop, register it as NTMF100.
  3. Registration will open on Tuesday, October 1 at 8:00 PM here.
After evaluating the applications, we will inform you by email whether you have been enlisted as Workshop participants or whether you are on the waiting list.
If you wish to receive credits for the Workshop, register it in SIS as NTMF100. However, the SIS registration does not ensure your participation in the Workshop. You need to sign up first using the form mentioned above. Enrollment in the course will only be valid for students who successfully register for the Workshop. Credits will be awarded to students who actually participate in the Workshop.
  4. Heating of the castle premises: rooms and conference halls are heated, corridors are not—choose your clothing accordingly. House shoes are recommended, not explicitly required.
  5. There is a kitchenette with a refrigerator shared by all participants. There are no refrigerators in the rooms. You will be able to make tea and coffee (which we will provide) in the kitchenette.
Additionally, you can buy drinks and other refreshments on-site; see here for a price list.
  6. Since the site is owned by the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, Eduroam should be available.
  7. Information about bus departures: the bus to Nečtiny will leave on Friday, October 18 at 12:00 PM from the parking lot in front of the FMP building at V Holešovičkách 2. The bus will arrive there at 11:45 AM
The bus from Nečtiny back to Prague will leave on Sunday, October 20 at 3:00 PM.
  8. There is a piano in the movie hall at the Castle, if anyone feels like playing some music. Don't forget to bring your musical instruments if you play one.
  9. There is a multi-purpose sports field at our disposal. We can also repeat the successful morning run we did last year—in case you want to join the run, don't forget to bring a change of clothes.
  10. On Saturday, October 19 there will be an exhibition and fair in the castle garden, see here for details.
  11. You can find room schedule, meal groups and menu here.
