ITP organizes yearly a two-day workshop for students interested in theoretical physics. The workshop is suitable for advanced bachelor's students, master's students, and doctoral students. The workshop can be enrolled as a course NTMF100.
The workshop offers a scientific, sports, cultural, and social program. In addition to the lectures, we held discussions on science, study programs, and general topics.
In the 2026/27 academic year, the retreat will take place from 16 October to 18 October at Hotel Skála in Malá Skála.
The Bohemian Paradise region is known for its exceptional landscape and historical monuments. Within walking distance you will find the ruins of the Vranov rock castle (Pantheon), which is well worth a visit, and Malá Skála Castle, which is, by contrast, closed to the public. The majestic ridge of the Suché skály rocks rises directly above the town.
Saturday sports programme: weather permitting, we will canoe down one stretch of the Jizera River and return on kick scooters.

Due to the earlier date of the retreat, registration will this year open here on the website already on 21 September at 20:00, and it will be possible to register no later than 28 September. Participants will be admitted according to their level of study and order of registration. We will publish further information about the retreat here in the week starting 14 September 2026.
In the 2026/27 academic year, we will resume trips to Ondřejov, and for Bachelor's students a one-day lecture workshop will be organised, at a time to be specified later, in the new hall on the grounds of the Ondřejov Observatory.
For many years, before a significant reconstruction started there, the workshop took place at the Astronomical Institute of the Czech Academy of Science in Ondřejov. You can recall past years in our galleries:
